Classically trained on piano and clarinet, I studied Music/Computer Science (BSc) at the University of Leeds and Professional Media Composition (MA) at the University of Chichester.

In addition to piano and clarinet, I learned guitar and bass as well as picking up various other instruments like tin whistle, accordion and assorted percussion (I have become a collector of random unusual instruments picked up on my travels!).

I am an active gigging musician, playing with a function band, jazz trio, original folk rock band, tribute and solo. My live playing experience feeds into my composition as I try to create music using as many live instruments as possible.

I have two young sons, full of life and creativity! I am a huge fan of baseball, which you are most welcome to talk to me about!

I am passionate about community and support many wonderful creative initiatives in my home town, such as Highly Flammable Studios and the good people at Painted Life. I play for The Big Busk, raising money for our homeless shelter.

I play JWJ Guitars, UK based handbuilt acoustic guitars.
